Conversion Tracking
Conversion Tracking
Conversion Tracking is an essential feature for monitoring your VSL's performance and improving your conversion rates.
In this article, we will teach you how to set up this feature step by step, ensuring you have full control over the sales generated through your videos hosted on VTurb.
How to set up Conversion Tracking?
1. Accessing Conversion Tracking
- In the main menu of your VTurb account, click on "Settings" and then click on "Conversion Tracking".

- You will be directed to an initial screen. If this is your first time accessing it, no platform will be configured.
2. Choosing the Platforms
- Select the platforms you want to integrate. You can choose up to 4 platforms in total.
You can integrate with the platforms below:

- If you reach the limit of 4 platforms and wish to switch, deselect one already chosen and select another.
3. Setting up the Parameters
- After selecting the platforms, configure the necessary parameters for each of them.
Each one has its specific parameters (src, sck, sid, subid, vtid, xcod, and so on...).

What Are Tracking Parameters?
Tracking parameters are fields used to carry information between the page where the video is published, the checkout, and the sales platform.
In VTurb Conversion Tracking, the selected parameter is used to carry the Conversion Key, a unique identifier generated by VTurb to connect a visitor’s interaction with a future sale.
Here is an example:
https://checkout.example.com/product?src=v3_bff0a123...
In this example:
srcis the name of the parameter selected for the integration;v3_bff0a123...represents the Conversion Key generated by VTurb.
The parameter name may vary depending on the platform being used. Therefore, the same information can be sent in different ways, such as:
?src=v3_bff0a123...?sid=v3_bff0a123...?xcod=v3_bff0a123...?sub1=v3_bff0a123...
The examples above represent alternative configurations. This does not mean that all these parameters will be added to the link at the same time.
VTurb only inserts the Conversion Key, whose value begins with
v3_, into the parameter selected during setup. What changes between integrations is the name of the parameter used to carry this information.
When the visitor clicks the purchase button, the Conversion Key is sent to the checkout. After the sale is completed, the platform sends this information to the VTurb webhook, allowing the conversion to be linked to the visitor’s original interaction with the video.
Before selecting a parameter:
- check which parameter is supported by the integrated platform;
- make sure it is not already being used to carry other information in your funnel;
- do not manually change or replace the value that begins with
v3_; - follow the instructions in the specific article for your platform to complete the integration.
- If you use RedTrack, you must select one of the additional parameters, ranging from sub1 to sub20.
4. Viewing and Finalizing the Integration
- On the next screen, you will see:
- The selected platforms.
- The status of each one as "Waiting for 1st sale". This status will change to "Integrated" after the first sale is recorded.

- Copy the webhook link generated for each platform and paste it into the configuration of the corresponding platform.
5. Editing Settings
- You can edit the selected platforms at any time by clicking on "Edit Platforms".
- To remove a platform, click the three-dot menu next to the platform's name and select "Remove Platform".
6. Impact on Analytics
- After activating conversion tracking, the conversions, conversion rate, and revenue metrics will be automatically displayed on your Analytics dashboard.
- You can hide these metrics at any time by clicking on "View Metrics".

7. Automatic Tests
Now that you have Conversion Tracking activated, you can run automated tests based on conversions!
To do this, enable Autoplay, Headlines, and Turbo tests to discover which version converts the most.
By clicking the links above, you can learn how to set up the tests in less than 2 minutes!
