Traffic Source Groups on VTurb
What are Traffic Source Groups and how do they work?
The Traffic Source Groups feature was developed to make managing and analyzing your ads and campaigns easier. With this tool, you can group ads or campaigns by similar parameters, such as common names or codes, allowing for a consolidated view of your results.
This is especially helpful for those managing multiple campaigns or similar ads that differ only in details like ID or version. With this function, it becomes easier to quickly identify which campaigns or ads are performing well and which ones need adjustments.
You can create groups based on any of the following source parameters: SRC, SCK, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_medium, utm_source, utm_term.
How to Create Traffic Source Groups
You can set up traffic groups in just a few simple steps:
Go to the Traffic Source Tab in your Analytics.
In your Analytics, head to the Traffic Source section to view all your campaigns and ads that have driven traffic to your sales video.
Select the source parameter you want to group.
For example: utm_content or utm_campaign.
Click “Create Group.”
At the bottom of the screen, select the option Create Group.
Give the group a descriptive name.
For example, “Retargeting Campaigns” or “Video X Ads.”
Set the Grouping Parameters.
Enter the parameter you want to use to group traffic sources, like a name, code, or common identifier shared among the ads. The system will pull together all ads that share this term.
Example: Many AD-10-XXXX -> Group by “AD-10.”
Save and View.
After setting the parameters, click Save. You’ll now see the group you created and can track grouped data from all related campaigns.
Viewing Group Performance
Once your group is set up, you can monitor the performance of your traffic sources in a consolidated way. This includes key metrics like retention, clicks, and engagement, both for the group as a whole and individually, allowing you to make quick adjustments and boost campaign efficiency.
Tips for Better Use
Use consistent names in your ads to make grouping easier.
Monitor groups regularly to adjust campaigns in real time.
Combine this feature with video retention analysis to optimize your results.
