Traffic Source Groups in VTurb

What are Traffic Source Groups and how do they work?

The Traffic Source Groups feature is designed to simplify the management and analysis of your ads and campaigns. With this tool, you can group ads or campaigns with similar parameters, such as common names or codes, allowing for a consolidated view of your results.

This is especially useful for those managing multiple campaigns or similar ads that differ only in details such as ID or version. With this feature, it's easier to quickly identify which campaigns or ads are performing well and which ones need adjustments.

You can create groups for any of the following source parameters: SRC, SCK, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_medium, utm_source, utm_term.

How to Create Traffic Source Groups?

You can set up traffic groups in just a few simple steps:

Access the Traffic Source Tab in your analytics:
In your analytics dashboard, go to the Traffic Source section to view all your campaigns and ads that have driven traffic to your sales video.

Select the source parameter for which you want to create a group.
For example, utm_content.

Click “Create Group”:
At the bottom of the screen, select the Create Group option.

Give the group a clear, identifiable name.
For example, “Retargeting Campaigns” or “Video X Ads.”

Define the Grouping Parameters:
Enter the parameter you want to use to group the traffic sources, such as a name, code, or common identifier among the ads. The system will gather all ads that share this term.
Example: Many AD-10-XXXX -> Group by "AD-10."

Save and View:
After defining the parameters, click Save. You will then see the created group and be able to track the aggregated data for all related campaigns.

Viewing Group Performance

Once the group is set up, you can track the performance of your traffic sources in a consolidated manner. This includes key metrics such as retention, clicks, and engagement, both by group and individually, allowing you to make quick adjustments and boost your campaign efficiency.

Tips for Better Use

Use consistent names for your ads to make grouping easier.
Monitor your groups periodically to adjust campaigns in real time.
Combine this feature with video retention analysis to optimize your results.
