Does the VSL Size Impact Page Load Time?
Does the VSL Size Impact Page Load Time?
When you upload your video to the VTurb platform, it goes through a compression process to make it lighter. During this process, the resolution adapts to the viewer’s internet connection, following the maximum resolution of the original video. Therefore, the VSL file size does not affect the page loading time.
How it works:
1.Automatic Compression: VTurb compresses the video into different resolutions to ensure smooth playback across various connection speeds.
2.Resolution Adaptation: If you upload a video in 720p, for example, it will be compressed into multiple resolutions, such as 360p, 480p, and 720p. The maximum resolution will remain the same as the original video.
3.Quality and Internet: It is important to note that, due to compression, there may be a slight reduction in video quality. The final quality will also depend on the viewer’s internet speed.
4.Initial Video Quality: You can now manually select the initial playback quality. This means the video will start loading in the selected resolution, providing more control over the user experience. Even with this selection, the system will still allow automatic adaptation based on the viewer’s connection, ensuring stable playback.
To select the initial video quality, go to Edit → Playback Options → Initial Video Quality.
