Antidownload: how to enable and protect your videos on the VTurb player

What is VTurb Antidownload?

Antidownload is a player feature designed to make unauthorized video downloads more difficult, adding an extra layer of protection against common capture methods such as browser extensions and code inspection.

What Antidownload does not block

It’s important to set expectations:

  • ❌ It does not prevent screen recording
  • ❌ It does not block captures made by external devices
  • ❌ It is not an absolute anti-fraud solution

Antidownload is a layer of protection, not a total lock.

How to enable Antidownload in the VTurb dashboard

Follow the step-by-step below:

  1. Access the VTurb Dashboard
  2. Select the desired video
  3. Click Edit
  4. Go to Anti-download in the side menu
  5. Enable the Antidownload option
  6. Save the changes

After saving, Antidownload will apply to that video.

⚠️ Attention: If you are already using the video’s default speed script in the head, you will need to replace it with the code shown inside the box for each individual video.

Alternative Video option

This feature ensures that the video downloaded by a spy tool will be a fake video. By default, we set one for you! But you can change it to any video you prefer.

Can it be used with A/B testing?

Yes! And in this case, there’s no need to change the A/B test speed code—only individual videos.

Do I need to change the embed code?

No, it’s not necessary. The embed updates automatically.

However, we recommend:

  • Avoiding very old embed codes
  • Updating legacy embeds
  • Clearing the page or CDN cache after enabling the feature

If you have any questions, support can verify which embed type is being used (Legacy or 2.0).
