How to Use Subtitles to Boost Your Sales Video

How to Create Subtitles

For captions to work properly in your video, the file must be in .VTT (WebVTT) format.

This is the most commonly used format for video player captions and allows text to be displayed in sync with the audio.

What is a VTT file?

A .vtt file is a text file that contains:

  • the spoken text
  • the exact start and end time for each caption

Note: You can create this file using third-party automatic captioning or conversion tools. In that case, just review the content and export it in .vtt format.

How to upload captions to your video

After downloading the VTT file to your computer, go to the Captions feature, click “Subtitle Upload”, and upload the caption file.

After uploading the caption file, you can edit the settings using these options (such as display, caption button, font size, alignment, and colors).

These options are located in the menu on the left side of the panel.

Important: You don't need to modify the video code on your page when making edits in the VTurb panel. Just reload your page and, if necessary, clear the cache to see the video with the new edits!
